HOW TO WEAR?
Your YŪ jewellery is made of high quality 925 sterling silver and/or 18K yellow gold and all pieces have a surface treatment. These surface treatments will fade over time because of contact with clothes, hard surfaces, sweat, perfume, hairspray, air pollution and many others. If your jewellery is exposed to the open air for a long period of time, it is possible that it will tarnish. It is more noticeable on the pure silver jewellery. However, this can be cleaned at any time.

 

HOW TO STORE?
Your jewellery is best stored away from natural sunlight and heat, ideally in your YŪ box or any other tarnish resistant unit. Avoid using polyvinyl plastic bags, such as bin liners, as these are made up of sulphur compounds which will tarnish sterling silver much faster and in the worst case scenario can turn your jewellery black. Also, avoid storing your jewellery in wet or damp areas such as the bathroom, kitchen etc.

 

CLEANING
To clean your jewellery, pour a small amount of natural/mild soap into lukewarm water and use a soft brush to gently clean the jewellery. We advise you to use an old toothbrush with a soft brush. Another option is to soak jewellery in lukewarm water for 30 minutes. For gold-plated jewellery please note that hard brushing while cleaning may cause the plating to fade away so it is important that you clean the jewellery very gently. Additionally feel free to use a silver-polishing cloth (no polish) to make the sterling silver jewellery shine again if any of the pieces have lost their shine and become dull.

3. PAYMENT CONDITIONS

  • For your security, the billing name and address must match the credit card or other method used for payment. Any PayPal account used must be in the name shown on your government issued identification document. YŪ reserves the right to cancel any order that does not comply with this or with our other security criteria.
  • Your card or other method of payment will not be charged until your order is accepted. However, it may show a pre-authorisation of the funds immediately upon order. Payment will be taken for pre-ordered or personalised items at the time of or shortly after you submit your order and in advance of shipping.

 

Please note: All orders are placed with YŪ, which is a German entity, therefore your card issuer or payment method provider may apply other international bank charges. In addition, if your credit / debit card or other method of payment is not denominated in the currency of your purchase, the final price will be charged in the currency of your card. This will be calculated and charged by your card issuer. YŪ has no control over these charges and cannot predict the amount. Please contact your issuing bank for further information before placing your order.

PRODUCTION TIME

Each YŪ product is an unique piece of art especially manufactured for you. We will start producing after your order is placed and confirmed by us. It takes about 2-3 weeks to make the jewellery. We constantly strive to optimise our production process in order to guarantee you the highest quality of our goods and to minimise delivery times.

 

 

TRACK MY ORDER

  • When shipping your order, we will send a confirmation email with your tracking number to confirm that your order has been shipped.
  • If you have a registered account with YŪ, you may check the status of your order online. Visit My Account, sign in to your account and click the ‘Order’ tab.
  • Your order status may take up to one hour to update after your order has been placed.

Each piece of YŪ jewellery which is created by a customer with the help of the YŪ algorithm (“Design Your Own”) is considered a personalised item. Due to the nature of personalised items, returns, changes or cancellations are not accepted once an order has been placed.

This does not include personalised jewellery with obvious production flaws. For these, of course, the right of withdrawal or return applies. Please note: Bending or scratching a piece of “Design Your Own” jewellery does not count as a production deficit.

1. RETURNING YOUR PURCHASE

Returns are available worldwide for all full price non-customised items within 30 days of shipping and all sale items within 14 days of receipt, provided the return conditions specified below are met.

Please note it is not possible to return personalised or pierced jewellery items. This does not affect your statutory rights.

You have the right to cancel your order except for personalised items. Your cancellation right begins on the date you place your order and ends 14 days after the date you receive your order. You then have a further 14 days to return your order to us. Please refer to the terms in ‘Order Cancellations and Amendments’ for more information.

Items returned will be refunded to the purchaser‘s original method of payment.

 

2. HOW TO RETURN YOUR PURCHASE

1. Place the item(s) in the original shipping box.

2. Complete the ‘Returns / Cancel Form’ and place it in the shipping box.

3. Remove all other labels from the outside of the shipping box.

4. Seal the parcel securely and attach the Shipping Label* to the outside of the box.

3. RETURN CONDITIONS

  • Purchases must be returned from the original shipping location with the original ‘Returns / Cancel Form’.
  • Items returned must be in their unused original condition with all YŪ item tags attached and any related accessories or instruction booklets included.
  • Incomplete, damaged, worn, soiled or altered returns, or anything YŪ reasonably believes has been used, will not be accepted and therefore sent back to the customer. Where an item is supplied with a hygiene strip, the item can only be returned if the hygiene strip has not been removed and remains intact.

 

4. DISTANCE SELLING LEGISLATION & EXCEPTIONS

Each piece of YŪ jewellery designed via “Design Your Own” is made exclusively for your according to your specifications and personal needs. They are custom-made products.

    1. According to § 312g Abs. 2 Nr. 1 BGB BGB (German Civil Code) and Art. 16 (c) DIRECTIVE 2011/83/EU OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT AND OF THE COUNCIL of 25 October 2011 on consumer rights, amending Council Directive 93/13/EEC and Directive 1999/44/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council and repealing Council Directive 85/577/EEC and Directive 97/7/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council the right of revocation or return does not apply to:”Distance Selling contracts for the delivery of goods that are made to customer specifications or clearly tailored to personal needs […].”By completing a purchase and completing the payment, you agree that a “Design Your Own” piece of jewellery will be made individually for you and is excluded from exchange and therefore non-refundable.
    2. Under applicable distance selling legislation or under statutory consumer protection laws of your location of residence to the extent applicable, you may have a right to cancel orders for certain items purchased from YuByYou.com within a statutory cooling-off period. For orders placed on YuByYou.com, there is a cooling-off period of 14 days from the day after the date on which the item in question was received.


Please note that this cancellation right does not apply to certain items including (without limitation):

  • Goods made to your specification or goods that have been clearly personalised.
  • Services, if we have started to provide the services before the end of the 14 day cancellation period.

 

For the return – in the form of a full refund or the production of a new piece of jewellery – please fill out the return form.

 

5. RECEIVING A REFUND

  • Refunds will be credited to the purchaser‘s original method of payment.
  • On receipt of a return, we will process the refund as soon as possible. We estimate refunds will be made by the provider of your payment method within 7-10 working days. Working days are Monday to Friday excluding German public holidays.
  • Please retain your Shipping Note until you have received your refund.
  • If the item which you are returning was purchased in a currency other than your local currency, any refund will be paid in the same currency as purchase. Due to fluctuations in currency exchange rates the amount refunded may be higher or lower than the original price paid.

 

6. EXCHANGES

Currently orders cannot be exchanged online. Please return your order to us within 30 days of the shipping date for all full price items and within 14 days for all sale items for a refund, ensuring that the return conditions are met. A new order can be placed through YuByYou.com at any time or if you Contact Us you can place an order via our Customer Service team.

 

7. ORDER CANCELLATIONS AND AMENDMENTS

In certain circumstances, before your order has been dispatched, we may be able to cancel your order. Please Contact Us by telephone as soon as possible after placing your order and Customer Service will advise if cancellation is available.

Please note, we are unable to combine orders, change the size, edit your billing and shipping details or add pieces to an existing order once it has been placed.

 

8. TO CANCEL YOUR ORDER

Please provide YŪ with written notice by registered post to YŪ, Julius Überall, Am Fährweg 1, 41468 Neuss (Germany) or by email to customerservice@yubyyou.com, in each case within the statutory cooling-off period and giving details of the items ordered, and (where appropriate) their delivery date and the date of receipt of the item(s). For customers in the EU only, you may choose, but are not obliged, to use the model cancellation form below to notify YŪ that you wish to cancel your order. If you choose to do so, please follow the instructions on the model cancellation form.

How can I get my own customised piece of jewellery?

To design your own piece of jewellery, simply use the YŪ algorithm on the “Design Your Own” page.

How do I measure my ring size?

GOLDSMITH
The easiest and most reliable way to find out your own ring size is to visit a local goldsmith. It is best to take an existing ring with you that you know fits perfectly. This ring can be measured and will give you information about your ring size.

Of course, there are other ways to measure ring size, but they are often not precise and carry a high risk of inaccurate measurement. YŪ would therefore like to draw your attention to the fact that you should not rely on the following measuring methods and should ideally visit a local goldsmith.

 

RING TEMPLATE
YŪ provides a printable ring template at the following link. With the help of this template you can determine your own ring size.

Note: Please use the given scale at the bottom left of the sheet to check whether you have printed the template in 100% or not, otherwise the measurements will be changed and YŪ cannot guarantee correct sizes.

 

IN GENERAL
Ring size varies from person to person and is not linked to body size or other physical characteristics. It is therefore extremely important, especially in the customisation process, to pay sufficient attention to this issue. Because whether or not you wear your ring a lot is usually determined by how comfortable it is on your hand.

How do I determine a person's ring size without them noticing?

Weddings, birthdays, Christmas – there are often occasions when you want to give a personal gift to very special people without them knowing about it. With rings, however, you face the big challenge that they should fit the lucky person perfectly.

One way to find out another person’s ring size without them knowing is to measure a ring they already wear and find comfortable. When doing this, it is important to measure the diameter. However, care must be taken when doing this as it is easy to make measurement errors. It is best to take a ring to a goldsmith and have it measured for you.

How long does it take to manufacture my jewellery?

As soon as we receive your order and payment, we start making your YŪ. Of course, we want you to be able to wear and love your jewellery as soon as possible.

Each piece of jewellery is custom made. We usually need 3-4 weeks for silver and gold jewellery and 3-5 weeks for gold-plated jewellery.
Added to the manufacturing time is the shipping time, depending on where you want your YŪ delivered.

Why is YŪ jewellery made solely of silver and/or gold?

The YŪ brand aims to offer its customers a standard of quality that is characterised by the high-quality workmanship of precious metals, thus enabling each customer to have long-lasting and solid jewellery.

Each piece of jewellery carries its own special meaning and thus manifests its own life journey. Because of this strong emotional charge of each piece of jewellery, YŪ places great emphasis on ensuring that the materiality of each piece of jewellery does not diminish these emotions.

What does a 925 stamp or engraving in my jewellery mean?

If you see the small inscription “925” on your piece of jewellery, it is the official indication that the jewellery in question is made of 925 sterling silver.

What is particular about 925 sterling silver?

925 sterling silver is a specific silver alloy and usually consists of 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% other metals (mostly copper). Due to the alloying with other metals, sterling silver is harder and more robust than pure silver and is therefore a favourite for silver jewellery.

Our 925 sterling silver consists of:
93% pure silver + 4% copper + 3% zinc

Why don't my rings fit on my fingers every day?

Humans consist of up to 75% water and also continuously adapt to their environment. Each person is different and unique in his or her own way and therefore adapts to everything individually.

In general, however, it can be said that at low temperatures the skin vessels contract due to the cold and expand when it is warm. Even if these changes are minor, they can have a major impact on wearing comfort. As a result, a ring may fit better on certain days than on others.

Various factors play a role here (temperature, humidity, etc.). Furthermore, it is also possible that fingers swell due to an injury or other external influences (insect bite, etc.) and thus make your piece of jewellery unwearable for the time being.

How do I get my ring off my finger if it sits too tight?

How to wear?

Even more so, if your jewellery is exposed to the open air for a long period of time, it is possible that it will tarnish. It is more noticeable on the pure silver jewellery. However, this can be cleaned at any time.

We recommend taking the jewellery off prior any contact with water, sporting activity or before going to bed. Do not wear your jewellery when in the swimming pool, jacuzzi, sauna or steam room, while bathing or showering. Also remove your jewels when doing household tasks and avoid impact with hard surfaces as much as possible. In addition, if the jewellery comes into contact with aggressive chemicals or substances, we cannot guarantee that it will remain undamaged. For example, avoid perfume, make-up, polishes, soaps, sun lotion, salt water, sand, chlorine and detergents.

The above care instructions also apply to our 18K gold-plated silver jewellery.

  • Services, if we have started to provide the services before the end of the 14 day cancellation period.

For the return – in the form of a full refund or the production of a new piece of jewellery – please fill out the return form.

RECEIVING A REFUND

  • Refunds will be credited to the purchaser‘s original method of payment.
  • On receipt of a return, we will process the refund as soon as possible. We estimate refunds will be made by the provider of your payment method within 7-10 working days. Working days are Monday to Friday excluding German public holidays.
  • Please retain your Shipping Note until you have received your refund.
  • If the item which you are returning was purchased in a currency other than your local currency, any refund will be paid in the same currency as your purchase. Due to fluctuations in currency exchange rates the amount refunded may be higher or lower than the original price paid.

EXCHANGES

Currently orders cannot be exchanged online. Please return your order to us within 30 days of the shipping date for all full price items and within 14 days for all sale items for a refund, ensuring that the return conditions are met. A new order can be placed through YuByYou.com at any time or if you Contact Us you can place an order via our Customer Service team.

ORDER CANCELLATIONS AND AMENDMENTS

In certain circumstances, before your order has been dispatched, we may be able to cancel your order. Please Contact Us by telephone as soon as possible after placing your order and Customer Service will advise if cancellation is available.

Please note, we are unable to combine orders, change the size, edit your billing and shipping details or add pieces to an existing order once it has been placed.

How do I measure my ring size?

GOLDSMITH
The easiest and most reliable way to find out your own ring size is to visit a local goldsmith. It is best to take an existing ring with you that you know fits perfectly. This ring can be measured and will give you information about your ring size.

Of course, there are other ways to measure ring size, but they are often not precise and carry a high risk of inaccurate measurement. YŪ would therefore like to draw your attention to the fact that you should not rely on the following measuring methods and should ideally visit a local goldsmith.

Note: Please use the given scale at the bottom left of the sheet to check whether you have printed the template in 100% or not, otherwise the measurements will be changed and YŪ cannot guarantee correct sizes.

 

IN GENERAL
Ring size varies from person to person and is not linked to body size or other physical characteristics. It is therefore extremely important, especially in the customisation process, to pay sufficient attention to this issue. Because whether or not you wear your ring a lot is usually determined by how comfortable it is on your hand.

How do I determine a person's ring size without them noticing?

Weddings, birthdays, Christmas – there are often occasions when you want to give a personal gift to very special people without them knowing about it. With rings, however, you face the big challenge that they should fit the lucky person perfectly.

One way to find out another person’s ring size without them knowing is to measure a ring they already wear and find comfortable. When doing this, it is important to measure the diameter. However, care must be taken when doing this as it is easy to make measurement errors. It is best to take a ring to a goldsmith and have it measured for you.

How long does it take to manufacture my jewellery?

As soon as we receive your order and payment, we start making your YŪ. Of course, we want you to be able to wear and love your jewellery as soon as possible.

Each piece of jewellery is custom made. We usually need 3-4 weeks for silver and gold jewellery and 3-5 weeks for gold-plated jewellery.
Added to the manufacturing time is the shipping time, depending on where you want your YŪ delivered.

Why is YŪ jewellery made solely of silver and/or gold?

The YŪ brand aims to offer its customers a standard of quality that is characterised by the high-quality workmanship of precious metals, thus enabling each customer to have long-lasting and solid jewellery.

Each piece of jewellery carries its own special meaning and thus manifests its own life journey. Because of this strong emotional charge of each piece of jewellery, YŪ places great emphasis on ensuring that the materiality of each piece of jewellery does not diminish these emotions.

What does a 925 stamp or engraving in my jewellery mean?

If you see the small inscription “925” on your piece of jewellery, it is the official indication that the jewellery in question is made of 925 sterling silver.

Why don't my rings fit on my fingers every day?

Humans consist of up to 75% water and also continuously adapt to their environment. Each person is different and unique in his or her own way and therefore adapts to everything individually.

In general, however, it can be said that at low temperatures the skin vessels contract due to the cold and expand when it is warm. Even if these changes are minor, they can have a major impact on wearing comfort. As a result, a ring may fit better on certain days than on others.

Various factors play a role here (temperature, humidity, etc.). Furthermore, it is also possible that fingers swell due to an injury or other external influences (insect bite, etc.) and thus make your piece of jewellery unwearable for the time being.

What is particular about 925 sterling silver?

925 sterling silver is a specific silver alloy and usually consists of 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% other metals (mostly copper). Due to the alloying with other metals, sterling silver is harder and more robust than pure silver and is therefore a favourite for silver jewellery.
